All-wheel drive (AWD)
The Vauxhall Antara is equipped with an electronically controlled all-wheel drive train. In normal driving conditions the power is delivered to the front wheels. However in difficult or slippery conditions it will automatically engage the all-wheel drive, delivering the driving power 50:50 front to rear, for optimal traction.
Descent control system (DCS)
The Vauxhall Antara is fitted with an incline descent control system as standard. Activating the DCS maintains a constant descent speed which is preselected by the accelerator.
Electronic driving systems
The Vauxhall Antara uses highly developed electronic driver-support systems to enhance active safety. It also offers:
Cornering brake control (CBC), which improves stability when braking in curves by reducing brake pressure on the inner wheels.
Hydraulic brake assistance (HBA), which automatically increases braking pressure when the driver steps heavily on the brake, progressively increasing the pressure to the maximum, thus dramatically reducing braking distance.
The electronic stability programme (ESP®) fitted to the Vauxhall Antara includes standard traction control (TC) and descent control system (DCS).
